Safety Issue in Greater Faridabad

Postby dmehtani » Tue Nov 06, 2012 4:00 pm

Dear All

Greater Faridabad has promised brilliant infrastructure which hopefully will be delivered in the near future. There are number of villages in the area such as tigaon, badauli etc which are full of anti-social elements.

What do you think about the safety of our children, sisters, wives and elders when start living in the area? Any thoughts

Thanks
Dhruv

How safe is bye pass road and Neharpar after dark?

Postby brandoo » Tue Dec 18, 2012 4:33 pm

Hi All,

After latest rape case in Delhi, I am wondering how safe is Bye Pass and Neharpar after dark. Neharpar will have mostly working couples travelling to Gurgaon, Noida and Delhi for work on regular basis and occasional airport trips where early morning flight or returning by late evening flight.

1. At the moment, area is deserted most of the day and more specifically after evening.
2. No Police Presence in the area (No PS/Chowaki etc).
3. No street lights but will be in place in a years time (as promised by Govt. agencies)
4. Sparse settlement/population makes it perfect play ground for antisocial elements.

NB: Guys do not pounce on me. I might be apprehensive but why not debate the possible security scenario in more objective manner. This is not anti GF or pro any other area. Most of us will have families living in the area. Not only women but children, elderly will also be staying there.

If we can link with broader security scenario in Faridabad. What are routine incidents: eve teasing, snatching, kidnapping, looting (vehicles), crime against women and elderly, house theft (in Delhi No colony is safe from burglars and are living on mercy/luck etc. What is the possibility or current security scenario in Neharpar. Lets be objective, not use bricks and bats against each other or pitch UP against Haryana. This thread is purely for GF and Faridabad

Feedback from members who are already staying in Neharpar or on bye Pass road will help tremendously and calm nerves.

Very valid point raised.

This is really a serious issue for present and future residents.

In the absence of proper law and order in that area, antisocial elements can get active.

Secondly, all upcoming apartments are having EWS flats, and many slums on By pass road..Would it be safe in that scenario.

on the behalf of GFWA, we raised this point in one of our letter to DC.

Secondly, the unavailability of proper Fire tenders in that area. Gr FBD area is coming up many high rise buildings.

But, where is the plan of Fire safety?

Just see the recent mishap at SRS site, small and congested roads made it difficult to reach timely assistance to accident site.

all in all, very poor planning from Haryana govt side and they are neglecting that area in totality.

Just wait and watch..2014 is coming and then we need to show the Power of general public...

Wake up..

Thanks Shiv

I think you have raised a very valid and important point, which need to be actively followed upon with authorities. Possibly people residing in Neharpar can throw light in current state of security, How safe it is for people to travel aroud during daylight and in dark. I would also be interested in hearing perspective from some working women living there.

We can also include issues such as structural safety, fire safety, road safety apart from general law and order situation.
I think we need to draw attention on these issues apart from development and malpractices adopted by builders. If we take this initiative forward, Greater Faridabad will be a better place to live.

GFWA is right plate form to raise these.

Government may just keep on passing the buck, (be it construction safety issue or a women safety issue) , hence it is important that people and society at large take charge, and actively work together for better living standards for all, Following Poem in TOI is really hard hitting and food for thought for all.

Given our conscience a permanent vacation
what to you tell our daughter's?
That she's growing up to be lamb for the slaughter
we've got to make a change
Reboot, reformat, rearrange,
and never give in
no matter how much your head may spin
Just keep asking the question
What is this country that I live in?

Disturbed over the recent brutal gang rape of a young woman in Delhi and the way women are being treated in our country, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar expresses his angst and anguish in this moving poem. He stirs our collective conscience with hard-hitting questions.

What is this country that I live in?
With no equality
And the quality of life
Differs from husband to wife
Boy to girl, brother to sister

Hey Mister, are you the same?
Contributing to the national shame
Replacing your mothers
With the bent ideology of another's perception
that women have a particular role in society
Fills my heart with anxiety
Where is all of this going?
What will emerge from these seeds
that we're sowing?

It makes my head spin
But I'm not giving in
Will keep asking the question
What is this country that I live in?
What is this country that I live in?

That takes away her right to love
Brutalises her with an iron glove
Rapes her without fear of there being justice for her tear
We've demeaned our goddesses
Gone back on all our promises
Become a gender distorted nation

Given our conscience a permanent vacation what do I tell my daughter?
That she's growing up to be lamb for the slaughter
we've got to make a change
Reboot, reformat, rearrange,
and never give in
no matter how much your head may spin

Just keep asking the question
What is this country that I live in?

Definitely it is a valid question.

A few days back in this forum I had raised the issue in order to get some information about Greater Faridabd. However, I did not get any answer or feedback from any member. The same are reproduced below :

a) What is the PIN Code of that area;
b) Under which Police Station it comes, so that if required one can lodge any complaint/FIR;
c) Under which Assembly Constituency if comes;
d) What is the Ward No, so that one can enroll himself in the Voters’ List and apply for Voter’s Identity Card;
e) Where one will have to go for Ration Card;
f) Under which RTO it comes, so that one can apply for registration of my vehicle when he buys;
g) Who are the agents for refilling LPG Cylinders (Indane, HP, Bharat, etc.);
h) Is it the same Tehsil Office (for Faridabad, i.e. at Ballabhgarh) or some other exclusively for Gr. Faridabad;
i) Same Municipal Corporation or a newly created another Corporation

These are required since I am planning for shifting to Greater Faridabad very shortly.

Re: regarding security concern in underground parking

Postby naveenarichwal » Thu Mar 28, 2013 3:26 pm

Yesterday in emergency dept of fortis escort hospital a patient came with history of assualt , when he was going along with few female relatives near SRS Residency sector 88 some of hooligans tried to tease the females and when the patient tried to stop them the hooligans attacked him, also the area is best for commiting crimes and the Agra/Gurgaon canal which is so near & without any fencing helps the criminals and provides them most suitable environment to commit crimes.

Besides EDC/IDC Possession and fighting the builder a sincere fight has to be started against the chalta hai attitude of security situation in neharpar, or else armed vigilante groups should guard these areas.

This is new habitation and typically will see spurt in crime rate because of weak social fencing, absent police or no preventive policing, and new found reaches to the local rural folks are few of the reasons.
