Ideas for promoting Greater Faridabad Welfare Association (GFWA)

We may promote our Greater Faridabad Welfare Association (GFWA) for getting more support and visibility. Members, Please suggest ideas to do that.

Some of ideas already in circulation among GFWA executive are:

1. Distributing pamphlets in newspapers
2. Planting green saplings in Faridabad with GFWA name on it
3. Organizing blood donation camp in Faridabad on banner of GFWA

I suggested the green sapling because it would remain for ever while other ideas are also good.

1. GFWA could support a NGO like "India against Corruption" etc., Since corruption is the current buzzword in the country, it ensures good visibility.
2. GFWA could have Facebook page which will give it a huge exposure through members and their friends.
3. Tie-up with some good hospital in Faridabad which offers discounts for any pathological tests / consultations for GFWA members. This will permit GFWA to post their placard in the hospital lobby providing good visibility. (In our colony in Delhi, Max Healthcare is providing 10% discount to residents of adjoining colonies and I believe Apollo is doing likewise). This is a noble cause and does not cost anything.
4. Organising small events like health camps / yoga camps / Diwali mela / Holi milan etc., in Faridabad - especially in high profile venues like the Gymkhana Club (thru some member)

I am also of the opinion of tree plantation, specialy thick / dense trees, which give greenery as well as shadow and cooling in summer like in Delhi main area. Blood donation camp may also be organised.

I can think of the below 2 ideas:

- Putting up banners in all Faridabad Malls
- Getting Temporary stickers at the back of our vehicles.

POSTER AND BANNERS SHOULD BE PUT IN AND AROUND ALL PROJECTS IN NAHARPAR AND BOARD SHOULD BE DISPLAYED MARKED WITH PROJECT NAME WITH ARROW INDICATING WAY FOR THE PARTICULAR PROJECT.E.g IF KLJ IS TO BE INDICATED STARTING FROM BPTP PULL BOARD SHOULD BE DISPLAYED UPTO KLJ SITE WITH THE NAME PROJECTING GFWA.

I think we can post this group activity in Facebook. This is the most popular way to reach maximum people these days.Apart from that we can arrange regular get together in forms of our internal meeting, meeting with HUDA, some activity or celebration. We can issue a small membership card and on that basis we can arrange discount on hospital (Good idea shared by one of our friend). We can have a GFWA T-Shirt for all members .Thats could add some extra cost but will show our integrity and unity while doing any protest or attendingt any meeting with HUDA or builders. We can also comeup with candle march on any weekend days for supporting Baba Ram Dev in India Gate. That is the best way to promote our group and add more volunteers.
Since we are not either businessman or politician so poster , sticker or pumplate idea does not look inpressive.

I PATIALLY AGREED WITH THE IDEA OF MR.LALIT BUT THE IDEA OF PLANTATION,POSTER,BOARD INDICATING THE WAY TO PARTICULAR PROJECT ARE VERY EFFECTIVE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PUBLIC/CUSTOMER OF NAHARPAR PROJECTS AND THE EFFECTIVE ROLE OF GFWA FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF GREATER FARIDABAD.SOME ACTIVITIES LIKE GET TOGETHER AND MANY MORE AS SUGGESTED BY MR.LALIT SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT ON PRIORITY BASIS SO THAT WE SHOULD BE AWARE OF EACH OTHER PERSONALLY.

Excellent idea(s) by Seadog. I am in full support of tree plantation. Inviting expert(s) from time to time in various camps will add quality of the camps.
To begin with, a get together of end users will help build the community and get to know.

Thanks a lot ! for posting good ideas. Let me summarize ideas that we have got upto now for promoting GFWA:

1. Planting trees/saplings in Faridabad/Delhi with GFWA name on it.

2. NGO Support - India against corruption. Anna Hazare's movement is already suppored by us.

3. Organizing small events in Faridabad

4. Tie up with hospitals for discounts - I am having doubts about whether hospitals will be interested. When lot of people start living there, then may be an option.

Except no. 1,6 and 7 all other suggestions are impractical and will be effective only when we can start living in out beautiful greater faridabad. I am a senior consultant at Asian institute of madical science at faridabed and i can assure you when ever my hospitals marketing peoples will interact with GFWA they can go any extent to give ypu discount. Our main stress, at present must be to make greater faridabad comparable to best locality of gurgaon, and we should plan accordingly.

The idea of going green is very nice, Considering we are still in compilation stage, It might be a lil early to brainstorm, However I have one concern, Adopting some existing plants or planting new saplings will require constant nurturing on day to day basis. As most of us are remote, can we also have some thoughts on managing that, getting this outsourced to some Malis could be an option, but the onus lies on us, Further are there some designated land areas for the same
