Greater Faridabad Welfare Association’s Media Advisor Ajay Yadav met Rajeev Vaid of FaridabadMetro.com to discuss the problems of the apartments and plots coming up in Sector 75 to 89 in Faridabad on Sunday, March 18, 2012.

Ajay Yadav appraised FaridabadMetro.com about the fact that the apartments and plots in Greater Faridabad started getting sold in 2005 and while the builders promised delivery in 3 or 4 years the reality check happened in 2009 when buyers saw that no apartment building was made above second floor. No acquisition was done for roads and sewer lines till that time. And buyer had paid 90 percent of the cost of apartment or plot by 2010 no owner could acquire his home as nothing was ready.

Due to sheer apathy by the builders and government department while 65000 dwelling units have been sold only 300 families have dared to start living in the Greater electricity i.e. Sector 75 to 89 of Faridabad. And the one’s who are living there are living in an area that does not get drinking or tap water, electricity, have no sewerage and lousy or no roads.

In many ways unhealthy and poor living conditions are pushing people planning to buy property in Greater Faridabad to NOIDA.

By an RTI GFWA has found that out of Rs. 1600 Crore of development charges that the builders have collected about half has not been handed over to the government. And another fact remains that the government has only sanctioned Rs. 450 Crore out of which very less has been actually put to use for the development in the area. The sewer plant’s tender has recently been awarded and the roads, sewer lines, tap water and electricity still remain unavailable inspite of the property customers having paid all the development charges.

Over 1000 complaints have been filed by the members of the GFWA against builders to the District Town Planner Enforcement related to late possession of the property, providing lesser green area than promised, bad quality of construction, disallowing customers to enter the premises and not adhering to the penalty clause on delay of delivery of the property. But all complaints have not got any result and the impression that DTPE is in cahoots with the builders is getting stronger by the day.

GFWA continues to fight against the apathy by the builders and government but that and the fact that some day Greater Faridabad will be livable is something that will be taking long time and effort.
