Service Tax on EEDC Demand

Dear All,

Please let me know if Service Tax is payable on EEDC demand ? if yes then on which rate. I am yet to pay the demand , but still they have debited the same to my account.

No service tax is payable on the EEDC/IDC. The collection of service tax on part of EEDC establishes that the EEDC being asked is more than what is required to be paid by builder to DGTCP as per the notification( by an amount for which the service tax on EEDC is charged).PL write a letter to DGTCP along with the demand letter asking for service tax on the EEDC
