The executive editor, irrigation department, Faridabad, Sandeep Taneja said while the work on the six-lane bridge at Meethapur near FaridabadDelhi border will start in a month, work on the two bridges to connect Faridabad with the newly developed Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) sectors in Greater Faridabad is likely to start in the next twothree months.
“The estimates have been sanctioned and tenders floated in respect of the construction of six-lane single span bridge near Meethapur. A bridge with three lanes is to be raised and one more lane is to be added to the existing two-lane bridge. The construction work will begin in a month,” he said.
The estimated cost of the bridge is R4 crore and it will be borne by the Delhi government. The scheduled time of completion of the project from the date of commencement is six months.
Giving details of the construction of a six-lane single span bridge to connect the road dividing Sectors 3 and 8 on the Bypass Road to the road dividing Sector 74 and Sector 75 being developed by HUDA across the Agra Canal, Taneja said the estimates are being prepared.
“We have already received R30 lakh towards the cost of preparing estimates. After due administrative process, the work is likely to begin in two months. The estimated cost of the project is R6 crore to be paid by HUDA to us. The project will be completed in six months from the date it begins,” he said.
As for the construction of a four-lane bridge on the Gurgaon Canal linking Sector 55 to Sector 58, Taneja said the estimates have been prepared. “The project is estimated to cost R6 crore. HUDA has to give the alignment details for the construction of the bridge there. The cost might vary a little depending on the alignment. Once we receive the alignment details, we will revise the estimates and go ahead with the tendering process to begin the work,” he said.
