Delhi HC rejects Om Prakash Chautala's bail plea

Postby s1joshi » Fri Feb 15, 2013 12:34 pm

Raja, Mantri, Chor, Sipahi.... Anyone whoz guilty is getting behind bar... I guess someone rightly said.. World will end in 2012, The person might have meant the bad world is going to end in 2012. Probably the superpower/god is in process of rebooting the system, and doing this so nicely we didnt even realized the change.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court on Friday rejected former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala's appeal against his conviction and 10 years sentence for illegally recruiting 3,206 junior teachers 12 years ago.

The 78-year-old chief of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), who was sent to Tihar Jail after his conviction, had also sought interim bail on the ground that "he is unwell and suffering from various ailments".

Chautala, his MLA son Ajay Chautala and 53 others, including two IAS officers, were convicted on January 16 by the trial court for illegally recruiting 3,206 junior basic trained (JBT) teachers in Haryana in 2000.

The senior Chautala, who was held as the "main conspirator" in the scam by the court, was found guilty of cheating, forgery, using fake documents as genuine and conspiracy under the IPC and for abusing his official position under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

GOOD NEWS, but the courts depend on Proof and witnesses , and these can be manipulated with money and muscle power,
Even if the judge and society knows that the culprit is corrupt than also it is very difficult to prove in court.
And as the saying goes TIME IS THE GREATEST HEALER, the Indian court/Justice system takes decades to reach the judgement.

In bofors there were documents to trace the trail of bribe, that reached the Prime Minister, but not even a single person has been punished in last 25 yrs. and with the sad demise of Rajiv Gandhi the case has been dumped. The case of CHARA ghotal,Babari Masjid demolition etc just keep on going and will never be finalized. This shows the complicity of the whole system to subvert the normal course of justice and use it to its own advantage as in Disproportionate assets cases of Mayawati,& Mulayam. Also the lobby of corrupt is so strong that it supresses the anti corruption movement in a way that no body will try to become Anna Hazare in Future.
