Impact of Protests : Faridabad DC to personally hear home buyers

Postby dheerajjain » Wed Mar 02, 2011 5:46 am

Thanks a lot to Mr. Prabhu Razdan of Hindustan Times to bring our protests to National Level. Today (2nd March), Hindustan Times published an article along with photograph. It is a very good photograph and represents all sections of society coming together to protest against HUDA and builders.

Aspirants who had invested money to own their dream houses in Neharpar area of Faridabad took to the streets and protested on Tuesday. The daylong protest was against the alleged cheating at the hands of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and some developers. The Faridabad deputy commissione r ordered an inquiry into the complaints of the investors.

People from different parts of Delhi and NCR including Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad, who had booked houses in Greater Faridabad, alleged that the area where their houses are coming up is "totally neglected, with no infrastructure facilities".

The protest was held under the banner of `Greater Faridabad Welfare Association' in Sector 12. The protest started at 10am outside the office of HUDA in the mini secretariat.

"We fail to understand why there isn't a check on the developers who fool the investors," said Neeraj Mittal of Shalimar Bagh in New Delhi.

SK Sinha, another Delhiite who had come to protest, said, "The surprising part is the developers do not cooperate with the investors when we ask them to join us in getting infrastructure facilities in the area."

The protesters later met Faridabad sub divisional magistrate Pradeep Godhara who briefed deputy commissioner Praveen Kumar about the issue. The SDM said a delegation of the investors have been asked to come to Faridabad on March 3 for a meeting with the deputy commissioner.

"I was briefed about the investors' problems. I will personally hear them shortly," deputy commissioner Praveen Kumar said.
