Under Construction school building collapsed at SRS Residency

Two days after an under-construction school building collapsed in Faridabad and killed six labourers, the district administration on Thursday ordered the evacuation of two existing residential towers near the mishap site. “We have ordered evacuation of some residential towers near the site,” said Balraj Singh, deputy commissioner, Faridabad. Technical teams will visit the site on Friday to check the stability of existing residential towers.

On Thursday, several residents of SRS Residency led a delegation to town and country planning office and questioned officials for allowing construction of a school building and putting them in dark.

“We came to know that the district administration had asked the builder to shift residents of two towers to safer places,” said Pramod Manocha, spokesman of SRS Residency Residents Welfare Association.

Meanwhile, the magisterial enquiry ordered into the school building collapse has started.

जागरण संवाद केंद्र, फरीदाबाद : ग्रेटर फरीदाबाद सेक्टर-88 में निर्माणाधीन स्कूल भवन ढहने के मामले में नगर आयोजन विभाग ने घटनास्थल से लगते दो टॉवरों को भी सुरक्षा की दृष्टि से खाली करने के लिए लिखा है। इन टॉवरों में 62 परिवार रहते हैं। इस बाबत एसआरएस प्रबंधन व संबंधित रेजिडेंट वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन को भी सूचित कर दिया गया है। घटना स्थल पर बचाव एवं राहत कार्य तीसरे दिन भी जारी रहा।
मंगलवार को सेक्टर-88 एसआरएस रेजीडेंसी में निर्माणाधीन एक स्कूल की तीन मंजिला भवन की इमारत ढह गई थी। यह भवन दिल्ली मालवीय नगर निवासी सुखवर्षा मल्होत्रा बनवा रही थीं। उन्होंने यह जगह एसआरएस से लीज पर ले रखी थी। इस हादसे में अभी तक छह मजदूरों की मौत हो चुकी है, जबकि करीब 13 मजदूर विभिन्न अस्पतालों में उपचार करवा रहे हैं। घटना के बाद उपमंडल अधिकारी (ना.) सुशील सारवान ने मौके पर जांच शुरू कर दी है। एसडीएम के दिशा निर्देशन में घटनास्थल पर निर्माण सामग्री के सैंपल भरकर उन्हें जांच के लिए भेज दिया गया है।
एसआरएस प्रबंध ने घटनास्थल से सटे टॉवरों की सुरक्षा संबंधी दस्तावेज प्रशासन को सौंप दिए हैं, फिर भी उनमें रहने वाले लोगों ने बृहस्पतिवार को वरिष्ठ नगर योजनाकार (एसटीपी) से मुलाकात कर अपनी व्यथा रखी।
एसटीपी ने एसआरएस टॉवरों में रहने वाले लोगों को आश्वस्त किया कि उनके टॉवरों सी-7 व सी-8 की सुरक्षा संबंधी पूरी जांच की जा रही है और जांच तक वहां रह रहे परिवारों को पास लगते कंपनी के अन्य टॉवरों में शिफ्ट कराया जाएगा।
रेजीडेंट वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन के प्रधान नरेंद्र छाबड़ा व सचिव राजीव कुमार ने बताया कि वहां रह रहे परिवारों ने दूसरे टावरों में शिफ्ट करना शुरू कर दिया है। इसमें जिला प्रशासन सहित एसआरएस प्रबंधन भी सहयोग कर रहा है।

Can anyone kindly update on the status of this fallen school buidling .

And also, its impact on the adjacent towers (C6, C7 and C8).

C6 possession was to come by January'13 and now has it been delayed. Any further updtes pls..

Hi,

Just to inform you all that the School Building which collapsed was owned by Modern Delhi Public School.

The premises was sold way back around few years back, and the construction was being carried away by the Scool management.

It seems that there is some Engineering Fault and the ignorance of the contractor.

Modern DPS??? Are you sure? I hope you are not quoting from NDTV or India TV websites because they had errors in their article.
