Re: Supreme Court scraps Greater Noida land acquisition

Postby naveenarichwal » Thu Jul 07, 2011 8:42 pm

Sir
I want to know ,can this verdict impact Greater Faridabad or not?Was the land aquisition by HUDA done after giving full compensation to the farmers for the resedential development in Greater Faridabad? Had farmers accepted the compensation ? Was there any grievance of the farmers regarding the compensation given to them? Is their any desputed area in GreaterFaridabad under Litigation in any court of law?

Dear All

I want to state some facts regarding Greater Faridabad/Neharpar :

1. Land in which our residential units are coming was NOT acquired by State Govt. Land was BOUGHT directly by builders from farmers in 2005-06. So, there is ZERO impact on land in which our housing projects are coming. Govt. did not act as broker or dalaal.

2. Land which HUDA has acquired or will acquire in Sectors 75 to 89 (Greater Faridabad) is for infrastructure development i.e. Roads, Water, Sewerage, Storm Water etc. This land acquisition is for pure public interest. It will benefit farmers, residents and everyone. This will lead to overall development of Faridabad.

3. Land rates (Rs 75 lakhs per acre) that have been given to farmers in Greater Faridabad are much much higher than those given in Greater NOIDA. It is at 3-4 times higher.

Considering these facts, I request all to not get panicky about Supreme Court Verdict. Also, to strongly oppose Neharpar farmers greed. I request builders also who are tracking our forum posts to support us in writ petition against State Govt. for fast tracking development of Greater Faridabad.

Remember - land acquired in Singur (by the State Government) in West Bengal for the Tatas is being returned to 'unwilling' farmers - who did not take the compensation, through a law passed in the State Asembly. No doubt the Supreme Court has come in ... on a petition by the Tatas .. but it is a mere stay-order .... which could get vacated soon.

Dear All,

It appears that farmers had accepted the cash, and now as rates have increased in faridabad, they are asking for more money. If they had not submitted a written protest at that time, or had refused to take any money - this cannot stand scrutiny in a court of law. Once a contract is done, it cannot be rewinded, even if one party feels it is unfair.

However, based on my experience in Pune with BFL, there are so many levels in the government and the political class, and all are interested in making money from land acquisition. One of the very big national politicians of Maharashtra is well known to do this. He buys a lot of land - even forcing farmers to sell. Then he gets the government to acquire this land - and thus converts all black money to white.

Farmers - "bechare" get really screwed in between the rumour and action between all these three classes.

One incident that I remember is that one Jeweller (and rising politician) got Medha Patekar and V.P.Singh to do a dharna in the area, and BFL paid him 12 crores to keep his mouth shut. He swallowed the entire money and stopped the dharna. The farmers did not know what had happened. Also the SLAO (Special Land Acquisition Office) Pune used to charge money from every farmer for payment of due amount - and they had to pay.

So, it is an ugly situation, if you take my word.

The only person whose land was not acquired was another politician, when all the land surrounding his was acquired, as he had enough clout to raise enough problems for the state government.

Regards,

In Faridabad, farmers got more than market rates and they happily accepted compensation without any protest or resistance. Their compernsation was enhanced five times from Rs 16 lakh per acre in 2008 to Rs 70 lakh per acre in 2011 (increase of 5 times). It is the pure greed and vested political interests fuelled by Rahul Gandhi that is leading to farmers once again protesting.
