Postby webmaster » Mon Mar 29, 2010 11:56 pm

One of our members Dheeraj Jain filed a RTI for Eastern Peripheral Expressway from NHAI.

Below is the response. Check attachment.

NHAI/SVND/RTI/2010/ 1507 Dated: 23.03.2010

To,
Sh. Dheeraj Jain,

Sub: Application under Right to Information Act.

Ref: Your letter dated 18.02.2010.

Sir,

The required information's regarding status and progress of Eastern Peripheral Expressway
(EPE) are as under:-

Q.1 What is the current status in terms of how' many percent it is completed and areas it has covered?

The EPE is in bidding process. The current status in terms of percentage of completion is Nil. The EPE begins at Km 36.083 of NH-1 in Distt. Sonepat (Haryana) and passes through Distt. Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Faridabad and ends in Distt. Palwal at Km 64.330 of NH-2.

Q.2 What is the expected date of completion?

The work is yet to be awarded therefore it is not possible to indicate the expected
date of completion.

Q.3 Are there any issues which are causing delays to this project? If yes, what are those issues?

The project is delayed due to re-bidding. Earlier NHAI received bids on 23.12.2008 and a single bid was received. The Ministry did not allow to open single bid and directed NHAI for fresh bidding after reassessment of engineering. Now last date of receipt of RFP document is 31.03.2010.

Q.4 What will be the width of the roads in this expressway? How many lanes will be there on each side?

The width of the road will be 27.5M with 3 lanes on each side.

5 & 6 The question is not related to NHAI.

If you want to make an appeal against this information, the same can be made to Sh. R.K.
Singh CGM (Tech.) Delhi, NHAI, G-5 & 6, Sector-10, Dwarka, New Delhi-110 075
