GFWA Turning One - GFWA All Members Meet on 4-Mar-12

Our very own Greater Faridabad Welfare Association is about to turn an year old. Yes, We do have a log way to go before we get to see concrete results of our action, However by embarking on this journey together with support of each other, the day cannot not be far off.

The challenges and frustration each one of us share today are similar. Most of us haven't yet received possession of apartments, and are yet to reside in the area. We have been trying to connect with each other during protest marches, general body meetings, or virtually over the forum.

Birthdays are occasions to make day special, So why not celebrate a year of togetherness in slight different manner with little leisure, and get to know each other little more. In this regard we would like to seek your opinion on holding next general body meeting with a theme surrounding "Know Thy Neighbor" potentially with pot lunch by members. Do share your valuable inputs/ideas. The venue and date will be planned shortly.

Everyone is invited for a get together cum informal general body meeting on Date : Sunday 04 March 2012
Venue : Town Park at 12 noon to catch up with each other and strategize the way forward. We want to do this in lil more relaxed manner with a theme of "Know Thy Neighbours" along with pot lunch brought by members.

So members get some excitement, hone upon ur culinary skills, get the Aprons/Chef Hats ON, go to the kitchen, stain some upholstery, put in all your expertise, get help from spouse/blogs/friends/internet/books…wherever… , If nothing, even Chips, Sandwitches, Maggi, tea, boiled egg anything will do ...because its all about sharing the experiences, bringing the joy (albeit in hard times), and developing a connect with each other. It wud be good to share, details of what you are about to bring, so as to ignite enthusiasm of fellow members, and maybe avoid duplicacy & have variety. (Please carry one bedsheet.)

I understand opinions of members may differ, Hence we have kept a small poll on the top, It would really help if you can kindly spare a moment and vote to specify your choice.

Hi Seema,

A great idea to know each other as till now most of us have come across each other either during Protests or general body meetings etc. where we all are in a totally different mood because of the inefficiency of the various agencies and a Pot Lunch gathering will definitely be a great event for the families / future neighbours to know each other.

We would probably be doing this in Town Park, where we have been hosting most of our meetings,
I have seen people having picnic/Lunches in the park, so am presuming there shdnt be any objections,

This would be organized on a Sunday and probably on 1st Sunday of March. Date will be finalized and communicated shortly
