GURGAON: Fed up with the inordinate delay in handing over of their houses by the private builder, the owners have decided to start an indefinite protest against the builder starting Tuesday.

Around 100 owners have decided to stage a dharna in front of HUDA office in Sector -14. The owners claim that the builder Ardee Infrastructure and HUDA administration have shown lack of intent of resolving the problem and handing over the completed apartments (Tower B3 and B4 in particular) for the last two years, in spite of promises being made in writing. The apartment owners have paid 95% of the apartment cost, including IDC and EDC in 2010-11.

“We fail to comprehend what the intentions are of the builder. All the wiring and lifts of B3 and B4 are ready and they can hand them over in 10 days but they are not doing so. The reason why we are staging the protest in front of HUDA office because we had a meeting with the senior town planner a couple of months ago and he said that he will share the details of the meeting he had with the builder. However, he has failed to do so. The builder is purposefully not completing the work and is not even willing to meet us,” said KK Saxena, an owner.

“Some people are even contemplating of committing suicide as they are not able to bear the financial burden. On one hand they are paying EMIs for the houses they bought and on the other they are paying huge rent in the house where they are living at present. We are not even able to sell this house or buy any other house as the prices have been escalated beyond our reach. The construction of this project was started in July 2006 and as per the agreement the project was to get over in January 2009. However, that is not the case,” he said.

There are a total of nine towers in this apartment complex in Ardee City, out of which owners claim that five are almost ready.
