GURGAON: The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon may soon have a swanky new office in Infocity in Sector 34, if talks that are under way between HUDA and the MCG materialize.

Talks are on between the two civic agencies over renting out a part of a HUDA-owned multi-storey in Infocity to the MCG. The building has been lying vacant since a private IT firm vacated it in 2012. The MCG presently operates out of its several offices in the city.

“Talks are going on with the MCG and other government departments. If everything goes as per the plan the MCG will have a new office there,” said HUDA administrator P C Meena. The rent of the building, located near Hero Honda Chowk, hasn’t been decided yet, he added. A government committee will decide the rent and time of lease of the building,” he said.

As per tentative plan, the MCG will be given a block of the four storey-building having a total space of 72,000 sft. All the floors have furniture, security gadgets, power back up besides other modern office facilities. “If talks materialize the MCG would be the first state government agency to have such a swanky office,” said another HUDA official. The building also has sufficient parking space.

When asked, MCG commissioner Praveen Kumar said, “The proposal is still under consideration.”
