GURGAON: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited tenders for the construction of a three-level flyover at the Hero Honda Chowk, aimed at easing traffic troubles at this cluttered intersection.
According to senior NHAI officials, the deadline for the bidding has been set in April and permission will be sought from the Election Commission of India before the allotment process to ensure that there is no breach of the election code of conduct.
“We will seek permission of the Election Commission of India if required. If there is election code of conduct, we will definitely abide by it,” said B S Singla, chief general manager, technical, NHAI, who is overseeing this project.
He said the NHAI is keen to see that the flyover project reach its completion. “It’s in the public interest. The NHAI and the ministry are both very keen to see a flyover at this intersection. It’s for the relief of the commuters that a flyover is needed at this stretch,” he added.
