LUCKNOW: Chief secretary Jawed Usmani on Tuesday said the 29.5 kilometre-long rail link on the Noida-GreaterNoida route from Noida City Centre to Boraki would be made operational to provide fast and easy transportation facility to public. He said nearly Rs 5,000 crore would be spent to complete this project, which is likely to be completed by 2017.
Usmani was chairing a meeting related to Noida-GreaterNoida metro rail link. He said, “To ensure that the Noida-GreaterNoidaMetrol Rail link gets operational, similar steps on the lines of those taken by states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, West Bengal, Kerala and other states must be followed.”
Principal secretary industrial development Surya Pratap Singh said since the metro line between Noida and Greater Noida is a standalone, the implementation of the project under various expansion projects of the DMRC is not possible.
He stated further that in the 179th board meeting of the Noida Authority on May 27, it was decided to form a company by New Okhla Industrial Development Authority and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority.
