Land acquired, government set to speed up Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor project work: Das

INDORE: The state government has acquired government land near Ujjain and Dewas for the Knowledge City under Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project. The state government is ready to expedite project work in Ujjain, additional chief secretary of state PK Das told ToI on the sidelines of an event here on Saturday.

However, privately-owned land has not been acquired as affected farmers have gone to the court particularly at places like Betma.

We have urged the Centre to sanction Rs 300 crore to raise required infrastructure for the project being implemented in partnership with Japanese government. Apart from it, we would require Rs 282 crore for water supply to Pithampur, he said. It will help us create infrastructure for the DMIC project, he added.

The project aims at creating a globally competitive environment and state-of the-art infrastructure in the region covering six states, including Madhya Pradesh to give push to local commerce, foreign investments and attain sustainable development.
