GURGAON: Members of Toll Hatao Sangharsh Samiti met chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday during his visit to the city and demanded early removal of Sirhaul and Kherki Dhaula toll from the expressway.
The members also handed over a memorandum in this regard. Members of the samiti said the objective of setting up toll plaza was to provide hassle-free commuting between Gurgaon and Delhi but it has become the biggest problem for them. Every day, long queues are witnessed at the toll plaza and several hours are wasted in commuting between Gurgaon and Delhi. The members also informed Hooda that none of the facilities mentioned in the contract are being offered to the commuters. They also thanked the chief minister for supporting the cause. Hooda said the state government is making efforts to remove the toll plazas from the expressway. The matter is in court but he is hopeful of a positive outcome, which will offer relief to the commuters, he said.
