GURGAON: District administration has initiated a probe into the land grabbing case involving a property of Zila Parishad in old Gurgaon.
The district administration had swung into action after the Zila Parishad officials were informed about the incident. The incident had taken place last month when local shopkeepers called police on seeing some unidentified persons demolishing the building.
The land at present is worth several crores and a local businessman was allegedly behind the demolition. On the basis of the complaint by the deputy CEO, Zila Parishad, R K Dangi, police had registered an FIR. A senior district administration official said: “The probe has been ordered to know the factual position of the demolition. The land is under litigation and there is a high court stay now. The role of the suspects will be probed with the help of police.” The land measuring over 400 square yards had a small office, which was in a dilapidated condition.
Local shopkeepers claimed that police were going slow in the investigation and have made no arrest. “It is strange that no arrest has been made despite the fact that police are checking ownership documents of a businessman who is behind the demolition,” said a shopkeeper.
The local shopkeepers also claimed that the site should be sealed by the police or Zila Parishad. “It is strange that the police are not keen to pursue the case and Zila Parishad is not keen to get it sealed to ward off encroachers,” said another shopkeeper.
It is also learnt that the suspects have submitted documents purportedly prepared by the Wakf board about the sale of property with khasra number. “The probe is covering all aspects including the documents related to the ownership of the land. The legal department is being kept in the loop about the probe,” said another administration official.
