MCG chief stresses water plan

GURGAON: The MCG commissioner has asked all executive engineers to plan for water conservation in the city. In a meeting held with senior officials on Monday, he stressed on the need to for rain water harvesting and building soak pits. Officials were asked to submit a report of all the development projects in the area under MCG administration, including details like deadlines and reasons for missed deadlines. Officials have been asked to identify areas prone to water logging and construct rain water harvesting and soak pits at these spots.
Executive engineers were also directed to be vigilant about the material being used for construction, and maintain video footage as proof of work quality. ” The commissioner intends to take strict action against those not performing their tasks. A departmental enquiry will be initiated if projects are getting delayed inordinately”, said an official.
