GURGAON: A road project in Laxman Vihar been carried out by the municipal corporation at a cost of Rs 98 lakh has been held up because the water pipelines that were laid a few months ago are jutting out.
The area councillor has squarely blamed the MCG authorities for mismanaging the development projects being carried out in the area.
“Just a few months ago the MCG authorities laid water pipelines in my area and even then I had asked the executive engineer concerned to dig a deeper trench before laying the pipes. However, he did not bother to pay any heed claiming he knew his job well. My pleas fell on deaf ears and now the residents are having to pay a price for no fault of theirs as the road project that is being carried out by the same MCG is now got halted because these pipes are jutting out,” said Mangat Ram Bagri, BJP councillor from that ward.
“This problem has raised because of the shortsightedness of the MCG officials and because one arm of it does not know what the other arm is doing. There are different executive engineers to do different jobs in the same area and that is the reason for this mess. This would not have been the case if there was a single executive engineer for a particular ward,” he said.
